Groups of the Process Systems Engineering Laboratory

*      Process systems engineering of batch plants.

This group is established in 1978. Aiming to support one of Bulgarian plants for manufacturing of pure chemicals, the first investigations are concerned in solution of particular scheduling problems. Further research activities are developed in the field of optimal design and energy integration of batch plants. The problems of the waste reduction also are on the investigation focus. Number of papers, patents, projects and software are result of the total investigation activities.

The staff of the group is changed during the years. Now it involvs:

*       Prof. Boyan Bonev Ivanov, PhD, DsC

*       Prof. Natasha Gr. Vaklieva-Bancheva, PhD

*       Assist. Prof. Elisaveta G. Shopova

*       Kiril Minchev, PhD student

*      Theoretical problems in chemical engineering

The investigation of this Group are in the field of:

-non-linear mass transfer;

-hydrodynamic stability of the systems with intensive mass transfer;

-incorrect (ill-posed) inverse problems of the model parameters identification;

-diffusion models of column apparatuses and scale-up.

The staff

*       Assist. Prof. Maria D. Doichinova, PhD

*       Assist. Prof. Petya G. Popova, PhD
